P.S. China implements the national park system with the aim of maintaining the authenticity and integrity of natural ecosystems, protecting biodiversity, protecting ecological security barriers, and leaving precious natural assets to future generations. This is an important measure for China to promote natural ecological protection, build a beautiful China, and promote the harmonious coexistence of man and nature. On October 12, 2021, President Xi Jinping announced at the 15th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity Leaders’ Summit that China officially established the first batch of national parks including Sanjiangyuan, giant pandas, northeast tigers and leopards, Hainan tropical rainforest and Wuyi Mountain. The first batch of five officially established national parks covers an area of 230,000 square kilometers, involving 10 provinces, covering nearly 30% of the national key protected wild animal and plant species in the terrestrial area.

Sanjiangyuan National Park, with a total area of 190,700 square kilometers, is located in the southwest of Qinghai Province and is divided into three parks: the source of the Yangtze River, the source of the Yellow River and the source of the Lancang River. The mountains in the park are vertical and horizontal, and the glaciers are towering, which is a typical representative of alpine ecosystems and a germplasm resource bank of alpine organisms. The beautiful and mysterious source of the three rivers, the vast snowfields, rivers, swamps and lakes, known as the “China Water Tower”. The three major rivers of the Yangtze River, the Yellow River and the Lancang River originate from the geographical wonders of the same region, and they are presented to the world here. The stamp depicts elements such as Tibetan antelope, wild yak, Tibetan wild ass, jellyfish snow lotus, safflower green velvet and other elements.

The Giant Panda National Park covers a total area of 22,000 square kilometers, spanning Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu provinces, and is home to more than 70% of the country’s wild pandas. In addition to giant pandas, rare wild animals and plants such as snow leopards, Sichuan golden monkeys, takin, tongs, and yew live in this ecological homeland. Today, in the Giant Panda National Park, a beautiful picture of harmonious coexistence between man and nature is slowly unfolding. The stamps depict elements such as giant pandas, red pandas, Sichuan golden monkeys, paulownia and yew trees.

With a total area of 14,100 square kilometers and spanning Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces, the Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park is the most important breeding and activity area for wild Siberian tigers and Northeast leopards in China. It is also typical of temperate forest ecosystems. At present, the ecology in the park continues to improve, and the population structure and scale of ungulates remain healthy. The stamps depict elements such as Siberian tiger, Amur leopard, sika deer, ginseng, yew and so on.

Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park, with a total area of 4,269 square kilometers, is located in the central mountainous area of Hainan Island, is the richest area of forest resources on Hainan Island, and is also the ecological security barrier of Hainan Island, with the most concentrated distribution, the most diverse types, the best preservation, the largest contiguous area of continental island tropical rainforest in China, is an important part of the world’s tropical rainforest, with national representation and global protection significance. The stamps depict elements such as Hainan cycads, meriades, Hainan gibbons, and Hainan po deer.

With a total area of 1,280 square kilometers and spanning Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, Wuyishan National Park is a typical representative of the tropical forest ecosystem in Central Asia, a treasure trove of animals and plants in the southeast, and a double cultural and natural heritage site of the world, and is praised by Chinese and foreign biologists as “natural botanical garden”, “bird paradise”, “snake kingdom”, “insect world” and “the key to the study of Asian amphibians and reptiles”. The stamps depict elements such as Fujian false thick plum, clairvoyant light, yellow-bellied horned pheasant, Wuyi forest frog, and golden-spotted beaked phoenix butterfly.

The stamp design is based on photographic works and is expressed in a graphic design way. The representative landscapes of the five national parks are shown on the left side of the screen; In the circular tooth holes, carved lines combined with image pictures are used to represent some representative animals of the corresponding national parks; The right side of the screen shows some representative plants of the corresponding national park. The overall picture highlights the gorgeous natural landscapes and rich ecological resources of the five national parks.

P.S.中国实行国家公园体制，目的是保持自然生态系统的原真性和完整性，保护生物多样性，保护生态安全屏障，给子孙后代留下珍贵的自然资产。这是中国推进自然生态保护、建设美丽中国、促进人与自然和谐共生的一项重要举措。2021年10月12日，习近平主席在联合国《生物多样性公约》第十五次缔约方大会领导人峰会上宣布，中国正式设立三江源、大熊猫、东北虎豹、海南热带雨林、武夷山等第一批国家公园。第一批正式设立的5个国家公园，保护面积达23万平方公里，涉及10省份，涵盖近30%的陆域国家重点保护野生动植物种类。
三江源国家公园总面积19.07万平方公里，位于青海省西南部，划分为长江源、黄河源、澜沧江源3个园区。园内山脉逶迤纵横，冰川耸立，是高寒生态系统典型代表和高寒生物种质资源库。美丽而神秘的三江源，雪原广袤，河流、沼泽与湖泊众多，素有“中华水塔”之称。长江、黄河、澜沧江三大江河起源于同一区域的地理奇观，在这里向世人惊艳呈现。邮票表现了藏羚羊、野牦牛、藏野驴、水母雪莲、红花绿绒蒿等元素。
大熊猫国家公园总面积2.20万平方公里，横跨四川、陕西、甘肃三省，栖息着全国总量70%以上的野生大熊猫。这是一个被“伞护”的生态家园，是世界生物多样性热点区，除了大熊猫，还生活着雪豹、川金丝猴、羚牛、珙桐、红豆杉等珍稀野生动植物。如今的大熊猫国家公园里，一幅人与自然和谐共生的美好画卷正徐徐展开。邮票表现了大熊猫、小熊猫、川金丝猴、珙桐、红豆杉等元素。
东北虎豹国家公园总面积1.41万平方公里，横跨吉林、黑龙江两省，是我国野生东北虎、东北豹最主要的繁育和活动区域。这里也是温带森林生态系统的典型代表。目前，园区内生态持续向好，有蹄类动物种群结构和规模保持健康状态。邮票表现了东北虎、东北豹、梅花鹿、人参、红豆杉等元素。
海南热带雨林国家公园总面积4269平方公里，位于海南岛中部山区，是海南岛森林资源最富集的区域，也是海南岛生态安全屏障，拥有中国分布最集中、类型最多样、保存最完好、连片面积最大的大陆性岛屿型热带雨林，是世界热带雨林的重要组成部分，具有国家代表性和全球性保护意义。邮票表现了海南苏铁、美花兰、海南长臂猿、海南坡鹿等元素。
武夷山国家公园总面积1280平方公里，横跨福建、江西两省，是中亚热带森林生态系统典型代表、东南动植物宝库、世界文化和自然双遗产地，被中外生物学家誉为“天然植物园”“鸟的天堂”“蛇的王国”“昆虫的世界”“研究亚洲两栖爬行动物的钥匙”。邮票表现了福建假稠李、千里光、黄腹角雉、武夷林蛙、金斑喙凤蝶等元素。
邮票设计以摄影作品为基础，采用平面设计方式表现。画面左侧分别展现了五个国家公园的代表性景观；圆形齿孔中以雕刻线条结合影像图片的方式，表现了相应国家公园的部分代表性动物；画面右侧表现了相应国家公园的部分代表性植物。整体画面突出了五个国家公园绚丽的自然景观和丰富的生态资源。
