Background

The Thick Paper issue was the third and final printing of the Large Dragons, released in March 1883 (9th year of Guangxu). The paper used was thicker and more opaque than previous printings. Early printings had clean, well-punched perforations (“Clean-Cut Perforations” 光齿); later printings, due to worn perforating machines, had blurred and irregular perforations (“Rough Perforations” 毛齿). Both varieties are known with imperforate-between errors, which are very rare and highly prized.

背景

厚纸大龙是清代海关邮政第三次发行大龙邮票，1883年（光绪九年）发行。所采用的纸张较厚而不透明。初印的大龙邮票齿孔打得光洁而整齐，称”厚纸光齿票”；后印的大龙邮票因打孔机使用年久，打出的齿孔模糊而不光洁，称”厚纸毛齿票”。在”厚纸光齿票”和”厚纸毛齿票”中，均出现中缝漏齿票。具体变体类型在上述括弧内注明，不再赘述。这种大龙中缝漏齿票，存世罕见，十分珍贵。
