Taer Lamasery is one of the six major lamaseries of the Gelugpa sect of Chinese Lamaism. It is situated in Huangzhong County, Qinghai Province. Built in 1560, the lamasery has been extended several times to become a large ancient architectural complex with the Big Golden Tile Palace as its center. The lamasery is magnificent and its buildings demonstrate the styles of the Tibetan and Han ethnic groups. The three famous treasures, for which the lamasery is known are traditional flowers made of butter, embossed embroideries and murals. They are vivid and colorful examples of the arts of Tibet and Qinghai Province. The lamasery was repaired during the 1991-1996 period.

塔尔寺，坐落于青海省湟中县莲花山，是藏传佛教格鲁派六大寺院之一，始建于1560年。后经增扩建，形成布局严谨，融合藏、汉两种民族风格的庞大古建筑群。

如意宝塔共八座，塔身记述了佛祖释加牟尼从诞生到涅?的八件大事;大金瓦殿是全寺最为富丽堂皇的建筑，收藏了众多珍贵文物和艺术品，是价值连城的艺术宝库;大经堂兼有经堂和显宗学院双重功能，是全寺僧人诵经和进行其他佛事活动的重要场所;班禅行宫，位于西山半山腰处，是一座由上中下左右五所院落和五华门、牌坊等组成的建筑群。
