This set of stamps chooses the designs of two ancient buildings from China and San Marino.

The Republic of San Marino is on the slopes of Mount Titano in northeast Apennines. With an area of 61 square kilometers, San Marino is bordered with Italy in every direction, and its official language is Italian. It is a Catholic nation, and the capital of the republic is San Marino, which was built in AD 301. In 1263, the country developed its republic law, making it the oldest republic in Europe. A hilly country which is about 700 meters above sea level, San Marino enjoys mild climate and boasts of attractive scenery. Every year millions of foreign visitors flock to the country. Important sources of the government revenue are tourism and the sale of postage stamps.

In recent years China has jointly issued stamps with foreign countries for several times. This has helped boost the bilateral ties.

这是中圣联合发行的邮票，是以中国的万里长城和圣马力诺的古诚堡为画面的双连票。连票上两幅图案将近处的两座古建城墙相互自然的衔接起来。

这两处建筑都是两国古代为抵御外敌入侵而修筑的防御工事，均体现了两国人民聪明才智和坚毅精神，同样也是作为两国的标志性建筑而受到世界各地游人的膜拜。邮票上的长城用砖块垒砌，随山起舞，势若游龙，具有一种阴柔之美;而圣马力诺的古堡则以方石修筑，敦厚有力，表现出刚劲质朴的特色。
