这套邮票是继1983年8月发行的《中国古代文学家》第一组之后的第二套。

陶渊明—–(365–427)晋宋时期文学家，作有诗赋《归园田居五首》《归去来兮辞》散文《桃花园记》等。其诗赋对后世均影响大。
曹植—–(192–232)三国魏诗人，诗以五言为主。代表作有《野田黄誉行》等被誉为五言诗的一代巨匠。《洛神赋》也颇为有名。
司马迁—-(前145或前135—-?)西汉史学家、文学家。作有“史记”是中国第一部记传体通史;对后世史学均有深远的影响。
屈原——(约前340—约前278)诗人、政治家。楚辞的创立者和代表作家。作有“离骚”、“九章”、“天问” 等对后代文学影响深远。
