Mazu, originally called Lin Mo, was born in AD 960. Many stories of her saving fishermen and merchant boats spread in the public. Fishermen say that she is still flying above the sea, making her presence to bless and protect ships and save sea perils. According to statistics, there are 1,561 temples of Mazu all over the world. There are more than 150 million people who believe in Mazu living in over 20 countries and regions.
