1966年6月21日，大庆油田某钻井突发井喷事故。32111石油钻井队的全体干部、职工迅速赶往现场，扑灭了大火，保住了新开的大气井。有6人牺牲，21人负伤。发行这套邮票旨在号召人们学习他们英勇的行为。
