P.S. insects are one of the oldest animals on the earth, the earliest terrestrial insects appeared in the Devonian period about 400 million years ago, and have developed into the largest variety of animals, with as many as 1 million species of insects known in the world, and the number of insects recorded in China is also about 10-150,000 species.
One of the largest moths in the world, it belongs to the family Saturniidae of the Lepidoptera, and its female wingspan can reach up to 30 cm wide. In recent years, due to the intensification of environmental damage to the habitat, the population of the giant silkworm moth has been decreasing, and it is a very precious and protected species. The spiny snake snake is a national second-class protected animal, which is a medium-sized dragonfly belonging to the family Gomphidae of the order Odonata. In the mountains and forests of northern China, the spiny serpentine spring fly appears in late summer and autumn. It belongs to the subfamily Asopinae of Hemiptera, which can not only “fight alone”, but also be good at “team assistance”, and can hunt and kill lepidopteran pests such as fall armyworm, Spodoptera litura, and cotton bollworm. The Scarabaeidae belongs to the Coleoptera family Scarabaeidae, which is a scarce species and is a national second-class protected animal, mainly distributed in Hainan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Yunnan, Guizhou, Zhejiang and other places, and is famous for its unique appearance.

乌桕大蚕蛾是世界上最大的蛾类之一，隶属于鳞翅目（Lepidoptera）大蚕蛾科（Saturniidae），其雌性个体翅展宽度最大可达30厘米。近些年由于栖息地的环境破坏加剧，乌桕大蚕蛾种群已日趋减少，十分珍贵，属于受保护的种类。棘角蛇纹春蜓属国家二级保护动物，是一种中等体型的蜻蜓，属于蜻蜓目（Odonata）春蜓科（Gomphidae）。在华北地区的山林，棘角蛇纹春蜓会在夏末秋季时出现。叉角厉蝽是农林作物害虫的一种重要的捕食性天敌昆虫，隶属于半翅目（Hemiptera）蝽科（Pentatomidae）益蝽亚科（Asopinae），既能“单兵作战”，又善于“团队助攻”，可捕杀草地贪夜蛾、斜纹夜蛾、棉铃虫等鳞翅目害虫。阳彩臂金龟隶属于鞘翅目（Coleoptera）金龟科（Scarabaeidae），数量稀少，为国家二级保护动物，主要分布于海南、广西、广东、云南、贵州、浙江等地，其以独特的外观而闻名。
邮票采用电脑手绘的方式，结合山林、田、水湖、草的背景进行设计，着重刻画昆虫的结构特征，强调其生动性和在自然环境中的整体美感。由北京邮票厂有限公司采用五色胶印印制，附加三维起凸和烫印工艺，及异形齿孔、荧光喷码等工艺，增强邮票印刷效果，赋予了昆虫“向上”的动感，使昆虫在纸上呼之欲出，充满生命的活力。
