Deng Yingchao (1904~1992), a native of Guangshan, Henan Province, was a proletarian revolutionist, stateswoman, well-known socialist, resolute Marxist, remarkable CPC and state leader, and pioneer of the Chinese women’s movement. After the founding of the new China, she was Vice Chairwoman and Honorary Chairwoman of the All-China Women’s Federation, Vice Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of NPC, and Chairwoman of CPPCC. During her over 70 years of revolutionary work, she devoted her whole life to the revolution, socialist construction and reform of China. She enjoyed great prestige both in China and overseas, and was held in high esteem and respect by all the CPC members and people all over the country.

邓颖超，中国妇女解放运动的先驱和领导人，原名邓文淑，祖籍河南光山，生于广西南宁。1919年“五四运动”时，在天津与周恩来等人一起组织进步学生团体–觉悟社，1925年与周恩来结为终生伴侣。建国后任全国妇联副主席、全国人大副委员长，第11、12届中共中央政治局委员，1992年7月12日逝世，终年73岁。她主持起草的《婚姻法》，是新中国颁布的第一部法律。
